Jimmy Choo`s father is the secret to his success
The iconic shoe designer comes from a family of Malaysian cobblers and made his first shoe when he was just 11 years old. He is now one of the world`s most famous footwear designers, and says he owes it all to his father, who taught him everything he knows.
"`My father gave me this skill," Choo told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. "He gave me 100% so I want to give back the same thing my father gave me. I want to give back to the younger generation."
To this end, Choo has started inviting fashion students to his London couture workshop to spend a day learning how he makes his famous pieces. He hopes that this will create a new generation of talented footwear designers who will carry his father`s methods into the future.
"`With this they can learn from my knowledge and my skill and tell people they have worked with Jimmy Choo," he said.
